In the May 2023 Snapshot Survey, we asked contractors about how they expand their workforce by advertising job postings. Here’s one survey question and its results from the summary report, which is available in it’s entirety by Contractor University members here.
If You Have Posted Job Openings, Where Did You Advertise Them?
When it comes to recruiting new talent, the survey revealed that job boards (48%) and the company website (10%) were the most commonly utilized advertising channels for home services businesses. Additionally, a significant portion (24%) reported using other channels, which may include local networks, referrals, or targeted outreach. These findings suggest that diversifying recruitment efforts and exploring alternative platforms could help businesses attract a wider pool of qualified candidates. Leveraging social media platforms, industry associations, and trade schools can further enhance recruitment strategies.

“We advertise on multiple job boards, through social media, company website and through suppliers. With the lack of qualified workers we have had to spend more money on training (sometimes only to lose them to our competitors).”
